Biography and artistic trajector

Esther Milena was born in Barcelona in 1981, after her artistic training in Higher Education, she completed a Degree in Fine Arts and a Master in Artistic Creation in University of Barcelona. Along her professional career she has specialized in painting, developing a pictorial technique based on the fluency, the matter and the movement, to capture her understanding of the world. A close up and intense view of the life that deepen into the basis of human being, its relationship with the environment and the connections with nature.
Her work seeks to find a “Whole” underlying everything, the interaction networks between their elements and their behavior, which represents an endless circle of continuous creation and destruction that can be found at every single scale.

In her artwork, the artist invites the viewer to stop and leave its artificial and limited world to get free, find its self and connect with the most primal unconscious imagination.

In her works the viewer can glimpse organic and earth-like forms similar to nature. However, the artist doesn’t aim to use preexistent images to copy the reality but the images, shapes and colors emerge spontaneously from a deep thought of an abstract concept, thus giving rise to new images full of meaning.
The artist uses acrylic paint, Chinese ink, mixed with gel, marble powder or varnish, on canvas or paper supports. The used technique is based on overlapping different layers which provides pictures with volumes and transparencies.

Due to the complexity of the topics the artist deals with, her pictorical work is grouped in different series. One example is “The way”, a series that treats the spiritual and physical journey that is done along the lifetime, the series “The life” where positive and negative experience, light and shadows are confronted to configure the existence, or “from A to A’, back to the beginning” where the previous concepts are recovered to develop the idea of continuous and endless cycle of creation and destruction, live and death inherent to everything.

Biografía y trayectoria artística

 

Esther Milena nace en Barcelona, en 1981, tras su formación artística en Bachillerato Artístico, realizar la Licenciatura en Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Barcelona y finalizar un Máster Oficial en Creación Artística, se especializará en pintura con la que desarrollará una técnica pictórica basada en la fluidez, la materia y el movimiento que le permitirá expresar su comprensión del mundo. Una mirada íntima e intensa sobre la vida que reflexiona sobre las bases de la existencia humana, su relación con el entorno y las conexiones con la Naturaleza.

Su obra nos muestra la intención de encontrar “UN TODO” presente en todas las cosas, desde en las micro partículas a los sistemas más complejos que se componen y descomponen continuamente partiendo de la idea de una renovación constante que además se puede apreciar en todas las escalas.

 

La artista invita al espectador a detenerse, salir del micromundo artificial y limitado en que se encuentra para liberarse, reencontrarse y conectar con la imaginación de la inconsciencia más primigenia que todos compartimos.

 

En sus obras se pueden entrever y adivinar formas orgánicas y terrenales semejantes a la naturaleza pero la artista no pretende realizar una copia de la realidad basada en formas preexistentes, las formas creadas son imágenes que nacen de forma espontánea tras la reflexión profunda de un concepto abstracto, dando así origen a formas nuevas cargadas de significado.

 

Los materiales que utiliza son pintura acrílica, tinta china, mezclados con gel, polvo de mármol o barniz, sobre soportes de tela o papel. Utiliza una técnica basada en un trabajo por capas, creando volúmenes y transparencias o trazos simples pero a la vez más contundentes.

Trabaja principalmente en series dada la complejidad de los temas que abarca como, "EL CAMINO", como recorrido  espiritual recorrido físico que realiza el ser humano, "LA VIDA" donde se aprecia la explosión de experiencias negativas y positivas que conforman la existencia o la serie "DE A a A, de vuelta la principio" donde se reencuentran los temas anteriores basados en la idea de la creación y destrucción continua y circular de todas las cosas y que cofigurarán la base de sus futuros trabajos artísticos.
