" The Divine Comedy"

Based on the three places described in Dante’s Divine Comedy: Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, I’ve developed a project in which the the essence of the of the physical and spiritual trip through the three scenarios described by Dante is capture on three pictorial formats in paper (152x200 cm). The trip is divided in three parts, three interconnected spaces that follow each other. The first, the hell, is where the trip starts and obeys to the idea that the negative must be experimented to really appreciate the positive. The second space, the purgatory, is where our sins must be washed away. The purgatory is a place to rest, silent, where the soul gets ready to enter into the paradise. Finally, the paradise represents the end of the trip, which can only be accessed after pass through the previous two.

A trip to the light, the truth, the fullness, a journey in which is inevitable to find parallelisms and similarities with one’s own life. Three spaces,three artworks, and in each of them a space is represented while keeps its relation with the other two, since one of the key aspects of this series is the idea that one cannot go into an isolate space but it must be accessed as part of a journey with different phases that we have to go through.

"La Divina Comedia" 

 

A partir de la idea de los tres espacios mencionados en La Divina Comedia de Dante, El Infierno, El Purgatorio y el Paraíso, he realizado un proyecto que se basa en tres formatos pictóricos sobre papel (152x200 cm ) en los que en cada una de ellos hago referencia a la idea de viaje, tanto físico como espiritual a la que Dante nos habla en el relato. Este viaje consta de tres partes, tres espacios, que se suceden y comunican. El primero, el Infierno, es donde el viaje se inicia, dándonos a entender que debemos de experimentar lo negativo para así , posteriormente, apreciar lo positivo. El segundo espacio, el Purgatorio es donde debemos limpiar nuestros pecados, es un espacio detenido, de silencio, donde se purifica el alma y se prepara  para poder acceder al paraíso. Finalmente, el Paraíso es el fín del viaje , al que solo se puede acceder después de haber pasado por los otros dos espacios.

Un viaje hacia la luz, hacia la verdad, hacia la plenitud, un trayecto sobre el cual es inevitable hacer paralelismos y comparaciones con la propia vida. Tres espacios en tres obras, y en cada una de ellas un espacio es destacado pero sin ser desvinculado de los dos restantes ya que una de las claves de este relato es hacernos ver como no se puede acceder a un espacio aisladamente, sino viviendo el viaje como un conjunto de fases por las que debemos pasar.
